Occupational Therapy (OT) is a diverse field of practice that services individuals of all ages, in various settings, with numerous physical, mental, and/or development disabilities. An Occupational Therapist’s (OT) art is to rehabilitate such individuals to independently return to their occupations of everyday life. OTs assess and provide client-based treatment to minimize or eliminate functional barriers experienced during activities of daily living (ADLs), work demands, leisure, social participation, and play. OTs are also trained in wheelchair seating, home safety assessments/ setup, work station assessments/ setup, and fabrication of orthotics.
Here at Pro Staff Dynamic Hand Therapy, with locations all across New Jersey, our OTs specialize in evaluating and treating upper extremity injuries and post-operative conditions to the shoulder, upper arm, elbow, forearm, wrist, hand, and digits. Our services include the use of (not limited to):
Such services are completed to improve one’s ROM, strength, fine motor skills, sensation, and overall function. Our OTs couple each client’s treatment with education, activity modifications, joint protection techniques, ergonomics, adaptive equipment (AE), and individualized home exercise programs (HEP) to accelerate one’s function and outcomes.
